Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update: Which Samsung and HTC Devices will Get The Update


Google recently released its latest Android update officially. With a version number of 6.0, Android Marshmallow has several new features including battery boosting feature Doze, new security features and a dozens of bug fixes.
However, unlike Apple'siOS, the Android update is little inconsistent in availability. Due to the heavy customisation over the stock Android firmware, several Android phone makers often postpone the OTA release to a later date. And there is no exception with the biggest second Android phone makers, Samsung and HTC either.
But there is some good news for the owners ofSamsung and HTC's latest devices.
Samsung Galaxy Devices
On a happy note,Samsung is one among the first few companies to officially confirm the Android 5.0 Marshmallow update for several latest devices. Through an infographic, the company has highlighted the key strengths ofGoogle's latest OS.
According to aTechTimes report, the company has also confirmed that the recently released Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ will receive the Android 6.0 OTA update. Several other Samsung smartphones including Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4 Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Tab A will soon receive the update.
However, there are still some confusion regarding the update over two of its most popularsmartphones- Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3. But they are expected to be in the list soon.
HTC One Devices
Gospel Herald reports that, like many other flagship smartphones, HTC's One M8 might skip the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update and receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update instead. The model has not even received the Android 5.1 update or homemade interface Sense 7 due to some unknown bugs.
The latestHTC flagship device, HTC One M9, which runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box is also expected to receive the Android 6.0 M update following the bigger display variant One M9+ and One E9+, though there is no official announcement from HTC.
